Guided day trips to AfriSki
Please note all activities are ‘weather permitting’ & Passports are required.
Depart from Clarens 7:30am from outside the Protea Hotel in Main Street, Clarens. Travel via scenic route to the border post and clear border formalities. Valid passports are required and for travellers under 18yrs the ‘un-abridged’ birth certificate is required in addition to their passport.
Take to the mountains now for a serious climb up the Passes to Afriski. Afriski is at 3222 metres above sea level so you will be climbing (or rather our Kombi will be doing the work) for quite some time. The views are spectacular as you go higher into the mountains and once there you will be able to boast that you had lunch at the highest restaurant in Africa!
For those who enjoy activities there is ‘paintball in the mountains’, ‘monster rollers’ and beautiful walks to the river (optional extras). These are summer activities but of course if you take this tour in winter, you would most likely rather have fun in the snow (June to end Aug)! We take time on the way back for you to capture beautiful photos as the mountain road twists and turns, and we only stop where it is safe to do so (not so easy on mountain passes). However, we know a couple of spots where it is safe to pull over. Otherwise it is possible to take photos from the vehicle as it is slow progress along these roads. Down the passes then to the border post and back to Clarens, arrive back approx 5:30pm – 6pm depending on how long we stay up in the mountain. We make this tour as a ‘all inclusive price’ for transport, border fee, guiding fees and lunch.
For ‘activities’ such as paintball, etc. we will give quote on request. In Lesotho you may use ZAR but you may receive your change in Maloti. Credit cards are also used at most centres but not debit cards. An over border levy will apply to those purchases.
You will be required to sign an indemnity form prior to departure.
